There is a common myth out there that antibiotics make the birth control pills not effective and that double method of birth control should be used if you are taking antibiotics. This is not true for most common antibiotics. In fact, some studies showed that blood hormone levels were even higher in women who were taking antibiotic at the same time. There are rare exceptions such as rifampin and griseofulvin but these are rarely used. As long as you are taking the birth control pills correctly every day, you don’t need to worry about getting pregnant just because you are taking antibiotic.
