There has been a significant interest on the part of expectant parents for this service and we are able to provide it now in the comfort of our own office. Please bear in mind that this is entirely an optional service and not a diagnostic examination.

We offer the following package:
  1. One color DVD of the entire scan including several still images.
  2. Several B/W thermal images.

  3. The price for this package is $200, payable with cash or credit card. We request a $50 deposit when you make an appointment with the balance being due when you arrive for the scan session. Please note that this deposit is not refundable if you do not cancel your appointment at least 24 hours in advance.

The best time to have this done is between 26 and 34 weeks of gestation. We will provide you with additional information and instructions for the optimal scanning session when you make an appointment. Please ask us if you have any questions regarding this service.

    3D/4D Ultrasound Instructions
    • The optimal time to have this scan is between 26 and 34 weeks of gestation. The quality of images will decrease outside these limits.
    • Have a good meal about an hour before the appointment, and drink 2 glasses of fruit juice 30 minutes before the appointment. We want the baby to be active when we scan. However, you do not need a full bladder.
    • The scanning session will last approximately 30 to 45 minutes depending on the position of the baby. The quality of the images is entirely dependent on the baby’s position and the relation to the placenta, uterine wall, and the amount of amniotic fluid surrounding the face. Also, the thickness of the maternal abdomen will affect the image quality. If no optimal images are available within the first 10-15 minutes, you may need to be rescheduled at no additional charge.
    • You are welcome to bring friends and family to this appointment. However, it is best to limit to 3 adults due to space limitations. We recommend against bringing children under 10 to the session because they will get bored very easily and can be very distracting to both the technician and the expectant parents. This will diminish the enjoyment of the scan for you.
    • If you are not an established obstetric patient of our office, you will need to fill out a consent form which needs to be signed by both your ob provider and yourself. We also require that you have had a diagnostic ultrasound performed before coming in for 3-D scan.
